How to Play? Choose your case and your preferred format. With the Digital Edition, you’ll receive the complete case as an instant download to investigate on-screen or print at home. When our Physical Case Files launch, your evidence will arrive professionally printed and delivered straight to your door. From there, the investigation is the same: examine every piece of evidence, track down the suspects, uncover their motives and test their alibis. Some cases may also lead you beyond the case file, with online evidence and hidden clues waiting to be uncovered. Once you think you know who did it, follow the link provided with your case to submit your answer and unlock the final reveal.
What’s included in the case file? Each Killer Instincts case is a completely different investigation, with its own theme, suspects, evidence and secrets. No two cases are the same. You’ll uncover a carefully created collection of realistic evidence, which may include witness statements, forensic reports, photographs, messages, documents and online clues. Everything you need to investigate the crime and identify the killer is included or clearly linked within your case. With the Digital Edition, you’ll receive your complete case file as a digital download, which you can investigate on-screen or print at home. Our Physical Case Files contain professionally printed versions of the evidence, ready to investigate straight from the pack.
How many people can play? You can play solo or in a group. We recommend 1–8 players for the best experience.
How long does it take to solve? Most cases take around 2–4 hours to solve, depending on the difficulty of the case, how thoroughly you examine the evidence and how quickly you piece the clues together. Every detective is different, so your investigation may be shorter or longer.
Is it difficult? Each case is rated on a difficulty scale of 1–5, which you’ll find in the case description online. Some mysteries are more straightforward, while others require closer attention to detail and more careful deduction. If you’re new to Killer Instincts, you may prefer to start with a lower-rated case before taking on one of the trickier investigations.
Are there hints available? Yes. If you get stuck, optional hints are available at www.killerinstincts.co.uk/hints. They’re designed to give you a small nudge on selected pieces of evidence without giving too much away. Once you’ve solved the case, you’ll unlock the final reveal, including a full breakdown of what happened and the role each character played in the investigation.
Is this a one-time play game? Yes. Once you’ve solved the case, you’ll know who the killer is, so each mystery is designed as a one-time investigation. Our Physical Case Files can be passed on to someone else afterwards, provided the evidence hasn’t been written on, marked or altered in a way that could reveal clues or spoil the investigation.
Do I need to play the cases in order? No. Every Killer Instincts case is a completely standalone investigation, so you can choose whichever mystery takes your fancy first.
Do I need internet access? Yes. You’ll need internet access to download your Digital Edition and to access certain pieces of online evidence during the investigation. For the smoothest experience, we recommend using a laptop or computer rather than a phone, particularly when viewing digital evidence and moving between clues.
Do I need to download anything? If you’re playing the Digital Edition, you’ll need to download your case file after purchase. After that, there’s nothing else you need to install or download. Any additional online evidence can be accessed through the links provided during your investigation.
Can I print the Digital Edition at home? Yes! You can investigate entirely on-screen or print the evidence at home if you prefer a more hands-on experience.
How will I receive my Digital Edition? Your Digital Edition will be available to download as soon as your payment has been successfully received. A download link will appear after checkout and will also be sent to the email address used for your order.

Do you ship internationally? Our Digital Editions are available online and don’t require shipping, so you can access your case wherever you are. Our Physical Case Files are coming soon and will initially be available for UK delivery only.

Can I return the game? For Digital Editions, once you’ve agreed to receive your download immediately and the download has begun, your 14-day right to cancel will end. Our Physical Case Files are coming soon. Full returns information will be provided when they launch. What age is the game suitable for? We recommend Killer Instincts for ages 16+ due to the murder-mystery themes, crime-related content and some mature subject matter.
Is the content graphic? The game includes references to murder, crime and other mature themes. Some evidence may contain blood or crime-scene imagery, but we avoid anything excessively graphic or gory.
Is Killer Instincts good for parties? Absolutely. Killer Instincts is a great choice for date nights, dinner parties, family gatherings, games nights and team-building events. We recommend 1–8 players for the best experience, but larger groups can play too.
