ACCESSING THE NCID DATABASE
Hint #1 Re-read the clue in the cover letter. Do any of the words or phrases seem familiar? Look carefully through the evidence materials to see if you can find a match.
Hint #2 Pay particular attention to the phrase “have a bash at it”. Search through the evidence and see if those exact words appear anywhere else.
Hint #3 In 'The Legend of Jonathan Gravewood: History and Myth', the reader is encouraged to “have a bash” at deciphering the Atbash cipher used by Jonathon in his diary. If you turn the page upside down, you’ll find the decoded version, which can help you work out how the cipher functions.
Hint #4 An Atbash cipher works by reversing the alphabet: A becomes Z, B becomes Y, C becomes X, and so on. Use this method to decipher the “PASSWORD”.
ANSWER The password is KZHHDLIW.
