Cassandra Tulley Cassandra “Cassy” Tulley had originally been in a relationship with Finley Hawthorne, but she cheated on him with his best friend, Olly, and eventually left Finley to begin a relationship with Olly instead. However, Cassy later discovered that Olly had also been unfaithful to her. Having sacrificed her relationship with Finley to be with Olly, Cassy realised that she had thrown everything away for someone who had betrayed her. Cassy had previously worked inside The Legend of Jonathan Gravewood attraction and therefore knew its layout, the routes taken by its actors and the timings of each performance. Most importantly, she knew about the brief reset period between groups, during which Olly would be alone in the Piano Room. At 10:45pm, one of the attraction’s staff-only doors was opened without a current employee badge being used. The access records show that the electronic lock had instead been manually overridden. Although current employees were forbidden from bypassing the locks, staff who had worked at the park the previous year had been taught how to do so in an emergency. This gave Cassy the knowledge needed to enter the attraction without appearing on the access records. After the penultimate group had passed through, Cassy used the five-minute reset window to reach the Piano Room. She cut Olly’s throat, removed three fingers from his hand and positioned his body across the piano, recreating the murder of Thomas Hawkins exactly 200 years earlier. She then disposed of the clothing she had worn and joined the queue for the final group, allowing her to appear as though she had discovered Olly’s body alongside the other guests. However, photographs from that evening reveal an important inconsistency. Earlier, Cassy had posted a selfie in which she was wearing a bright yellow poncho. Yet in a later photograph showing her queuing for Gravewood Manor after the murder, the poncho had disappeared. An Instagram story posted by an influencer at the park provides the answer: a discarded yellow poncho stained with blood can be seen inside a nearby bin. The bloodstained poncho connects Cassy directly to the murder. When combined with her motive, her knowledge of the attraction, the manually overridden door and the five-minute window in which Olly was killed, the evidence confirms that Cassy used the legend of Jonathan Gravewood to disguise a carefully planned act of revenge.

Dahlia Moon Dahlia appears to have an obvious motive for wanting to harm Olly. The two attended the same university and moved in similar social circles, but their relationship was far from friendly. In her police interview, Dahlia explains that Olly regularly dismissed her tarot readings as “woo-woo,” and a Facebook memory that Olly recently shared confirms that he had publicly mocked her interests. While Olly may have viewed it as harmless banter, it clearly caused friction between them. Before the park opened on Halloween, Olly visited Dahlia’s tarot booth, Moonlit Readings, and received a reading from her. The tarot cards were later found among his possessions when his body was examined. Interestingly, when compared with interpretations published on Dahlia’s blog, moonmystictarot.com, the cards appear to predict a fate strikingly similar to what ultimately happened to him. Could Dahlia have wanted to prove the accuracy of her readings by turning Olly’s death into a chilling demonstration of her abilities? While the circumstances may seem suspicious, the evidence suggests otherwise. An Instagram story posted by one of the park guests shows Dahlia working at her tarot booth and giving readings at 10:55pm, the same time the murder was taking place. This provides her with a strong alibi and rules her out as the killer.

Eli Sinclair Eli had a bitter resentment towards Olly, stemming from the time Olly deliberately sabotaged his opportunity to gain representation with a talent agency. Working alongside him at Gravewood Gorefest must have been difficult, although Eli worked in a different attraction to Olly, The Quarantine Zone, as we can see from the Actor Handbook. It certainly looks suspicious that Eli may have wanted to harm Olly, especially considering that a threatening note was found in Olly’s pocket. If we compare the threatening note with the piece of paper containing Quarantine debrief notes, we can see that they align, suggesting they were written on the same sheet of paper and, additionally, in the same handwriting. Since we know Eli worked at The Quarantine Zone, it is reasonable to assume that these were his notes. The handwriting also matches that found in his Actor Handbook. What makes this even more suspicious is that the Actor Handbook shows Eli takes his final break at the end of the night, meaning he could have slipped into Gravewood Manor around the time of the murder. However, an accident report recovered from the NCID database shows that Eli was injured after being punched in the face by a guest. He was subsequently taken to hospital and did not return to Gravewood Gorefest that evening. The evidence therefore confirms that Eli was not present at Gravewood Manor at the time of the murder, ruling him out as a suspect.

Saffron Vale Saffron had been having issues with Olly for some time after he asked her to work for free as a special effects makeup artist. She publicly criticised being asked to work without pay on her social media platforms. Shortly afterwards, she began receiving abuse from an account named user24764, which was later revealed to be Olly. Saffron publicly threatened him, making it clear she knew he was behind the account and warning that something bad would happen if he didn't stop. However, she did not mean murder. She had actually been in contact with a solicitor and intended to send him a cease-and-desist letter. If he failed to remove the negative comments and stop harassing her online, she planned to pursue legal action and seek financial compensation. Saffron stated that at the time of the murder, she was at the Carnival of Shadows attraction helping actors remove their makeup. This is supported by a photograph of Saffron at the Carnival of Shadows, recovered from the NCID database, which is timestamped 22:40. We know from the Fast Pass ticket that it takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from one side of the park to the other, and the park map shows that the Carnival of Shadows and Gravewood Manor, where the murder took place, are on opposite sides of the park. Therefore, Saffron did not have enough time to travel to Gravewood Manor and commit the murder.

Victor Hawthorne Victor had a clear motive to want revenge on Olly. Olly had previously had an affair with Cassy, the girlfriend of Victor’s brother, which ultimately led to Victor’s brother dropping out of university. In order to get close to Olly, Victor pretended to be his friend and hired him onto his team. Witnesses at the park regularly saw them together and believed they had a genuine friendship. In reality, Victor was using this relationship to gather information he could later use against him. Over time, Victor discovered that Olly was cheating on Cassy. More importantly, he managed to obtain a recording that proved this. When Cassy posted on social media on the morning of Halloween that she would be attending Gravewood Gorefest, Victor saw an opportunity. He planned to play the recording of Olly’s confession over the event tannoy, exposing him publicly in front of everyone and ensuring Cassy heard the truth. However, this plan ultimately failed. Victor later messaged his brother stating that he had “messed up”. While this message may initially appear incriminating, it does not relate to Olly’s murder. Victor was referring instead to the fact that the tannoy system was not working. This is supported by the NCID door access logs, which show Victor entering the control room between 10:45pm and 11:00pm in an attempt to operate the tannoy system. As a result, he could not have been responsible for Olly’s death.

Sabrina Gravewood Sabrina was under significant pressure due to the park losing money, and she had been in discussions with a PR firm about staging a “newsworthy stunt”. A note outlining a potential plan was later recovered. However, it is also known from the insurance policy recently taken out that she would receive financial compensation in the event of any damage at the park. The fire report shows that remnants of fire starter blocks and kindling were found at The Butcher’s Shed, where the fire occurred. These items match those listed on an invoice signed by Sabrina. The report also confirms that the fire was started around the same time as the murder. We know from the Fast Pass information that it takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from one side of the park to the other, and the park map shows that The Butcher’s Shed and Gravewood Manor, where the murder took place, are on opposite sides of the park. There was therefore no way Sabrina could have both started the fire and committed the murder within the available timeframe. Sabrina may have given a misleading account of her movements at the time of the murder, but this appears to relate to her involvement in arson rather than Olly’s death.

Finley Hawthorne Finley was heartbroken following his break-up with Cassy, after she cheated on him with his best friend, Olly. Following this, he dropped out of university due to the strain on his mental health. This gives Finley a clear motive to want to hurt Olly, especially considering the plan he had previously been involved in with his brother, Victor. However, as shown by the computer log from Rose Cottage (Finley’s home address, as confirmed by his university letter), Finley logged into a video chat room at 20:58 on 31st October 2019 and remained active until 01:05. We know from the advert for the chat rooms that all participants must be verified with their camera on at all times. This means Finley would have been visible and accounted for online throughout the time of the murder, making it impossible for him to have been at the park during the incident.
